Serving 8 years at Fox River State Penitentiary for Vehicular Invasion and Kidnapping, Seth Hoffner was quickly given the nickname Cherry and forced into a sexual relationship with T-Bag. Seth appealed to Michael for help, Michael refused to get involved since T-Bag was aware of Michael's escape plan. Shortly thereafter, Seth committed suicide by hanging himself, causing Michael to feel guilty.

- Cherry's name is likely inspired by Seth Hoffman, a Prison Break writer and director. Sarah Wayne Callies mentions this in Episode 7 of Prison Breaking with Sarah and Paul.
Post-Death[]
Michael Scofield felt guilty for Cherry's death. He appeared season 2 in archive footage in a montage of bad things caused by T-Bag.
